In conclusion...

Since last time I have done a lot more with technology, I have created a movie, a webquest, and a portfolio. I am enjoying learning about all these new technologies that can be implemented in the classroom. My movie I created was a short biography of the artist Chuck Close, last week I used it as an introduction to an art lesson for self portraits. The kids enjoyed the movie, but they were unable to read the text because my timing was too fast. I had to go back and adjust it, its all about learning. I am looking forward to creating more movies and eventually teaching my students how to create their own movies for classroom projects to address the art technology standard.

Next, I created a webquest for a classroom research project. The students were asked to research a contemporary artist. The webquest is an online tool (website) that provided the students the information (sites) they need to complete their task. The final product was for the student to complete the task and put their research into a PowerPoint presentation as well as create a piece of artwork reflecting the artist theme. I liked this project because I had an assignment like this already, but it was a worksheet. Creating a website is more beneficial because I am able to put visuals of the student’s artwork as well as websites that are appropriate that they do not need to waste time sifting through credible and non credible websites.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed the class because I was able to learn about and create new resources that can help me enhance my classroom and enrich myself as a teacher. A lot of things I have created for class I have already used in my lessons. This class has allowed implementing and learning about the new technologies which have made me feel more technologically savvy. To see all the interesting things I have learned this quarter just check out my end portfolio at https://sites.google.com/site/kristenpyshorasportfolio/

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!
